IDEMIA Smart Identity’s Biometric Recognition System Has Been Granted OSIA Qualification

Courbevoie—December 19, 2024: IDEMIA Smart Identity’s Biometric Recognition System (IBRS) has achieved Open Standards Identity API (OSIA) Qualified status. IBRS is a multimodal automated biometrics identification service. It enables governments to access a full array of biometric recognition related services.

OSIA enables seamless connectivity between the building blocks of the identity management ecosystem—independent of technology, solution architecture, or vendor. The qualification program is working to enhance the interoperability of identity management systems, support identity solution development, and address government requirements for OSIA compliance. The OSIA global qualification program aims to support the growing number of government bodies that want to introduce an OSIA qualification as a solution prerequisite during their tendering process. It is doing this by enabling the government-industry collaboration needed to build open, innovative, and future-proof national identity systems. The OSIA qualification program, managed by GlobalPlatform on behalf of the Security Identity Alliance, aims to address requirements for OSIA compliance.
