IPS and GDRFA – Dubai Sign Strategic Partnership for New Al Maktoum Airport

With its market leadership, IDEMIA will deliver innovative biometrics, AI and data analytics

IPS and GDRFA – Dubai Sign Strategic Partnership for New Al Maktoum AirportIDEMIA Public Security (IPS), the leading provider of secure, trusted biometric-based solutions, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA), the Dubai-based government entity that regulates international travelers’ entry and exit and foreign nationals’ residency, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster advanced R&D and innovation for the new Al Maktoum International Airport. The MoU was signed by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General, GDRFA and Osama Al Makhamreh, Vice President, Head of Sales in Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Pakistan, IPS.

The MoU will ensure the development of cutting-edge technologies at Al Maktoum International Airport, set to become one of the largest and most advanced airports in the world when it is built in five to seven years. The airport will leverage IPS’s expertise in passenger processing to support the GDRFA’s goals of creating a world-class traveler experience while improving the passenger experience, ensuring security, and optimizing airport operations.

The innovations that IPS will work with the GDRFA to develop, and implement will center around the following key areas:

  • Advanced biometric identification solutions will be implemented for passenger identity verification and processing from check-in to boarding, including border control. This will allow passengers to breeze through the airport and streamline processes to create first-rate experiences, while improving on time performance and resource optimization.
  • Data analytics will process and analyze large volumes of traveler data for predictive insights and real-time decision making. This will track and monitor passenger flow, generate insights into system performance and traveler behaviors, improve risk assessment capabilities, and inform security decisions. The use of data analytics will create a truly personalized experience for passengers, leveraging each traveler’s behavior to inform strategies and drive meaningful change.
  • Artificial intelligence-driven solutions will enhance data analytics and biometric identification solutions, bringing a greater sense of innovation and expertise to the project and drive overall airport efficiency.

We are excited to enter this landmark partnership with the GDRFA for the new Al Maktoum Airport and are thrilled to collaborate to bring our innovative ideas to life in what will be the largest airport in the world. This agreement is not only a testament to the capabilities of our technology, but also our mission to deliver innovative solutions that positively impact travelers’ experiences across the globe, accelerating the seamless and safe movement of people along their traveler journey.
