Providing device security at your fingertips
A variety of applications are now moving to biometrics as government and businesses look to harness its ability to provide a fast and secure way of verifying a person’s ID. To help OEMs seize these opportunities, IDEMIA is providing the MSO OEM Series, a range of robust fingerprint modules that draw on its world-class optical technology and biometric algorithms.
Ideal for registration in areas such as immigration, electoral rolls and welfare provision, the modules can also enhance the security of retail and ATM transactions. The MSO SDK enables their swift integration into Windows, Linux and Android platforms.
The MSO OEM Series features a large, high-performance optical sensor that is certified to FBI PIV IQS standard. The FIPS 2011 and MINEX2 compliant embedded algorithms provide sub-second 1:1 authentication and 1:N identification. Optional security features can protect the communication channel with host systems, while the MSO OEM 331 variant implements an enhanced, patented optronic fake finger detection function.
1 US federal government standard that specifies Personal Identity Verification (PIV) requirements for federal employees and contractors.
2 Interoperability test used to establish compliance of template generators and template matchers for the U.S. Government’s Personal Identity Verification (PIV) program.
With a 25.4×20.3mm sensing area, the modules offer excellent image capture. Images are processed on-device by first-rate coding and matching algorithms.
Drawing on IDEMIA’s world-renowned matching algorithms, the False Acceptance Rate can be scaled down to 10-8. The modules also deliver high accuracy when processing juvenile fingers.
Fully sealed from dust and water, the modules can easily be integrated into IP65-rated products. Their optical sensor is highly resistant to electro-static discharges, scratches and shocks.
