Creating the bridge between physical ID documents and governmental eServices
IDQR is a security feature designed to address the challenges of counterfeit identity documents, tampered-with data, and stolen identities. It combines advanced physical and digital security by permanently embedding a QR code into polycarbonate ID documents.
The QR code is laser-engraved during the personalization process and includes a full-color photo of the holder along with their biographical information, digitally signed by the issuing country. This ensures the data’s integrity and prevents unauthorized alterations or regeneration of the QR code.
IDQR allows easy remote verification through a user-friendly reading app. The app can be seamlessly integrated into an existing app using an ID proofing solution or is available as a license for existing ID proofing services.
To access public or private eServices, document holders can easily prove their identity using just their smartphone. After scanning the front and back of their ID document containing IDQR, they perform a biometric selfie check that ensures their face matches the portrait stored in the QR code.
IDQR is also suitable for in-person document authentication. An agent can verify and authenticate the document, confirm the integrity of the QR code’s data, and cross-check with the human-readable data on the card.
IDQR can be easily integrated into ID-1 format and ID-3 format identity documents.
The data in the QR code is digitally signed by the issuing country to ensure the biographical data’s integrity.
IDQR is a future-proof solution, integrating the original photo of the document holder that will be used for biometric verification.
The QR code contains a photo of sufficient quality to enable accurate biometric face matching.
