Digital key solutions enable car access and engine start with a mobile device. Also called “phone-as-a-key” solutions, they allow car owners to easily share digital keys, and to restrict car usage if needed. These solutions address the constantly growing Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) market by simplifying the process of vehicle’s pick-up and drop-off for car sharing and car rental services.
IDEMIA’s cloud-based digital car key solutions, powered by AWS, allow carmakers to manage digital key generation and distribution workflows with secure storage of keys on iOS or Android smartphones. The solutions can use NFC on the smartphone-to-vehicle interface or enable hands-free vehicle access using Bluetooth (BLE).
